Care Instructions
Your portrait will arrive with a mat attached, the bevel directed inwards. Due to the special nature of chalk pastel, the inward facing bevel allows for the pastel to "rain" and collect behind the mat. This "rain" is not significant, but does occur overtime. Avoid touching the finished portrait as the chalk pastel will come off onto your hand.
Additional tips
For best results, purchase an additional mat in the color of your choice to place over the existing mat and place the entire package inside a frame. Always frame chalk pastel paintings behind glass. This will protect your portrait and provide a beautiful finished product. Also, avoid hanging the portrait in any location of your home which receives intense direct sunlight to prevent condensation.
